Revision of the presentation of the family and population knowledge course with a health-oriented approach in universities of medical sciences

Abstract
Providing family and population knowledge courses with a health-oriented approach in universities of medical sciences can lead to more transformation, innovation and efficiency of this course. The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of presenting this course with an approach to health topics and to explain the general framework for compiling health-oriented topics and topics for this course.

This applied research was conducted with a qualitative approach in the academic year of 1401-1400 at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. The statistical population consisted of 22 teachers of family and population studies, experts in the field of Islamic education and experts in the field of health and familiar with topics in the field of education. The study tool was a researcher-made open-answer questionnaire, whose validity and reliability were approved by experts.

All the participants (100%) found the delivery of the family and population knowledge lesson with a health-oriented approach in terms of the objectives of the lesson and its delivery in terms of health aspects, possible and useful and necessary for medical students. 62.5% believe that it is possible to present according to the approved headings.

Providing a health-oriented approach in the course of family and population knowledge is possible and its presentation is useful and necessary for medical students. The feasibility of this approach can become the basis for creating transformation, innovation, and as a result, more efficiency of this course. The proposed headings provide a good basis for the development of this lesson.
