Objectives: Knowledge management strategies may include a system for sharing new medical research findings among physicians or a process for nurses to exchange effective care techniques. The present study aimed to identify the components that affect the implementation of knowledge management in the medical field.
Materials and Methods: This study qualitative research using the meta synthesis method its and objectives, as well as its methodological approach. The data collection tool was secondary data from previous documents (library method), and the data analysis was conducted using content analysis. A total of 154 sources were reviewed in full text during various stages, of which 35 documents met the inclusion criteria and were subjected to systematic analysis. The content analysis process was carried out using MaxQDA software, and inductive coding was employed to identify patterns and categorize the findings.
Findings: Factors affecting the implementation of knowledge management in the medical field were categorized into six overarching themes: (1) organizational factors, (2) human factors, (3) information technology factors, (4) process factors, (5) social factors, and (6) environmental factors; comprising 29 organizing themes and 88 basic themes.
Conclusion: advances in information and communication technologies, including artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, have underscored the need to consider various factors in knowledge management. This evolving approach in the medical field has the potential to transform traditional knowledge management structures.
