Podcast is a learning tool in educational environments that can have a great impact on learning. Podcast can be used as a self-learning method or information review.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of educational podcasts on learning and measure students' attitudes regarding the use of podcasts in education.
Method: This semi-experimental study was conducted on 123 medical students of Birjand University of Medical Sciences in 1401. Students were divided into two control and intervention groups. Pre-test and post-test were taken from both groups. The attitude survey questionnaire was also completed by the students of the intervention group. The data was statistically analyzed using spss software with descriptive (mean and standard deviation) and analytical (independent t test and paired t test ) at a significance level of less than 0.05.
Results: Comparison of the average pre-test and post-test scores in each of the groups showed that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores in each of the control and intervention groups. However, the score improvement in the intervention group was more than the control group. The average score of the attitude measurement was 91.21 ± 6.23, which showed the positive attitude of students towards the use of podcasts in education.
Conclusion : Considering the positive impact of podcasts on students' learning and students' positive attitude towards using podcasts in the learning process, educational podcasts can play a significant role in improving the learning process as an accessible, flexible and attractive educational resource.
