Abstract
Introduction: Dropping out of school every year plagues educational systems, so it is important to improve the mental health of students who drop out of school. The aim of the current research is to investigate the effectiveness of training based on the cognitive-metacognitive-behavioral model and the making an app protocol on the assertiveness of teenage girls who dropped out in the Central Province Relief Committee. Method: This research is semi-experimental. The sample group was selected voluntarily and included 25 adolescent girls, who were randomly divided into 3 groups. One group was trained in both protocols, one group was trained only in the proficiency of making an app protocol, and the other group was the control group. The research tool was the assertiveness questionnaire of Gambrill & Richey (1975), which was used as a pre- and post-test. Findings: The data were analyzed with SPSS software version 26 and the statistical method of analysis of covariance.This research showed that the difference between the three groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). the most changes belonged to the group that trained both protocols. Conclusion: In the training of cognitive-metacognitive-behavioral model, cognitive barriers to assertiveness were removed. Learning the skill of creating an app provided a platform for assertiveness and objectification of ideas and abilities. The combination of the training of these two protocols, which was done for the first time in the present study, was able to improve the participants' assertiveness cognitively and behaviorally and skillfully.
