Abstract
ntroduction & Purpose: Considering the importance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in reducing the death and the need for people's knowledge and skills in basic resuscitation in dangerous chemical industries, this innovative research with the aim of teaching cardiopulmonary resuscitation using the boot camp method with non- medical target group, chemical engineering students were implemented and evaluated in1401
Methods: In this study, 73 chemical engineering students of Mahshahr University were randomly selected in 1401. First students' knowledge before the educational intervention has been evaluated. Then, with the help of a mannequin and an educational video, cardiopulmonary resuscitation was taught to these students and the knowledge, skills, and satisfaction of these students in order to properly perform basic resuscitation one month after the educational intervention 4 of the students' left and 69 people were measured.
Findings: the average pre-test score of students' knowledge was 2.75±1.387 and the average post-test score was 6.13±1.706 and this difference is statistically significant (p-value=0.001).after the intervention the students obtained a high average score in most of the skills and in the form of satisfaction from the boot camp, the highest percentage of frequency of good and excellent grades were chosen.
Discussion: The results showed that boot camp method of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and practice in a stress-free environment it has increased the knowledge and skill of chemical engineering students in the field of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
