Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between parents’ perfectionism with self-esteem and optimism of their children among female high school students in Rasht City. The present study was in the field of correlation studies. The population of this study was 210 female students. Cluster random sampling was used in this research. Accordingly, the research sample included 130 female high school students. The data collection tool is the standard questionnaire. Ahwaz's perfectionism scale, Cooper Smith's self-esteem test and Shirer and Carver's self-esteem test and scale were used. Data analysis was done through regression test and Pearson correlation coefficient using SPSS application. In general, the results showed that there is a more relationship between fathers’ perfectionism with the self-esteem of their children and there is more relationship between mothers' perfectionism with optimism of their children.
