Abstract

Porpose: Introduction: In today's world, the main issue is training people who can think correctly and to face the amazing developments of the current century, increasingly use metacognitive strategies to make appropriate decisions and solve complex problems of society. The aim of the current research was to investigate the relationship between cognitive styles, cognitive and metacognitive strategies with self-esteem and social adjustment in Azad Islamic University, Ahvaz branch in 1401.
Methods: According to the purpose of this research, it was applied and cross-sectional in terms of the method of data collection. The research method was descriptive-analytical. The target population is all students of Ahvaz Islamic Azad University, which was selected by cluster random sampling with a sample size of 100 people. The research tools are the Latent Forms Group Test by Witkin and colleagues (1971), Karmi Learning Strategies Questionnaire (2011), Sinha and Singh's Social Adaptation Questionnaire (1993), and Cooper Smith's Self-Esteem Questionnaire (1967).
Findings: The results of extracted raw data, collection tools were analyzed with SPSS 18 software and according to the design method, the statistical analysis method is fundamental or focal correlation.
Conclusion: The results showed that there is a significant relationship between cognitive styles, cognitive and metacognitive strategies, self-esteem and social compatibility of Islamic Azad University.
