Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to investigate the mediating role of information technology acceptance on the effect of scientific optimism and media literacy in students of Payam Noor University of Isfahan. Therefore, this research is applied in terms of purpose and correlative in terms of the method of collecting findings. The statistical population of the research includes the students of Payam Noor University in Isfahan city in the academic year of 1400-1401. 296 people were selected as the research sample using random sampling method. To collect research findings, Hoy and Tarter's (2006) scientific optimism questionnaire, Zain et al.'s (2005) information technology acceptance questionnaire, and philosophical media literacy questionnaire (2013) were used. The face validity of all questionnaires was calculated by experts in this field and their reliability was calculated using Cronbach's alpha test. The analysis of the findings has been done using the correlation coefficient test in the SPSS software environment. The research findings indicate that the adoption of information technology has a significant effect on media literacy and scientific optimism both directly and indirectly. Also, scientific optimism has a direct and significant effect on media literacy.
