Abstract

Attention to the increasing role and importance of English learning in promoting the knowledge and understanding of students about their fields can double the necessity of its learning. The purpose of this study was to investigate the problems of English learning among the students of Health School of Ahwaz Jundishapur university of medical sciences. This research is a descriptive study. The population were all students in school of health (N= 650). Samples of this study was thirty percent of the population size (195 persons), which selected by classification of randomly. The data gathering tool was a questionnaire's researcher made that prepared based on the Likert scale that consisted of 22 questions with 5 points. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics and SPSS software. Results from the study showed that among the individual factors "not assignment a part of daily life to learning of English from students" and between educational factors, "weak educational system and establishing unsuitable prior From entering the university" and "the lack of utilization of modern teaching methods such as movies, display, and ... during teaching and also among cultural-social factors, "high costs for training in language learning centers" were selected as the most important problems. Thus, it seems essential that the university educational authorities take measures to eliminate existing problems and promote learning English among the students.
