Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare Factors that affect “Student Evaluation of Teaching” from both teachers’ and students’ points of view in Shaheed Sadoughi Universityin medical sciences, Yazd,Iran in 2012. The statistical population consisted of all teachers at this university Then 120 teachers and 120 students were selected through stratified sampling method. Their views were gathered by similar questionnaires with two sections. The used questionnaire was developed by the researcher and its validity and reliability has been measured. Data was analyzed by SPSS software through descriptive statistics and statistical tests( t test and Mann Whitney test). Based on the results, teachers and students considered effecting factors consisted of teaching skills in theory courses, teaching skills in practical courses, teacher's characteristics (demographic, personalityand communication) and student characteristics. The results showed similarity between the views obtained from the teachers and students, however,there were significant differences between the views of teachers and students . It would be indicated that the process in which evaluation of teachers by students and feed back to terchers helps to improve teaching and education promotion..
