Quality evaluation of plastic surgery educational program from the perspective of faculties and assistants of Plastic surgery subspecialty, a qualitative study

Abstract
Introduction: The quality of the curriculum is a multidimensional process that must be examined from several aspects. The aim of this study is evaluating quality of the plastic surgery training program based on the experiences of faculties and residents.
Materials and Methods: This study which is the result of the master's thesis in medical education conducted by qualitative content analysis. 10 participants consisting of 6 third year assistants and 4 subspecialty faculties of plastic surgery were included in this study by purposive sampling method. The research environment is 15 Khordad Hospital in Tehran. Data were collected using interview guide. The transcripts of the interviews were analyzed using the 2004 method.
Results and discussion: The results of a study of the views of residents and faculties on the quality of plastic surgery training program leading to the emergence of the main theme; Quality of training. Based on the analysis of the recorded interviews, 3 main categories and 9 subcategories were extracted.
Conclusion: Making changes in educational content, how to implement the educational program, interactions between professors and students, considering income generation and medical centers in learning and training in this discipline, as well as solving problems related to equipment and trying to create and provide more and diversity of patients in educational centers are valuable suggestions that the beneficiaries of the program pointed out.
