Abstract
Abstract:
Propose: The purpose of this research was to provide a structural model of professional development of faculty members based on work communities with the mediation of occupational conflict in Tabriz University of Medical Sciences.
Methodology:The method in the current quantitative research is correlational through path analysis, which is based on structural equation modeling. The statistical population in this descriptive study includes all faculty members of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, numbering 860 people. The sample size was estimated based on Cochran's formula of 280 people using stratified random sampling method. Research tools include; The standard questionnaire of professional development is based on the views of Nova(2008) and the researcher-made questionnaire of work communities adapted from research (Syed Nazari etal., 2018) and the standard questionnaire of occupational conflict (Shafli etal.,2006). The reliability of the questionnaires was reported through Cronbach's alpha test of 0.95 for professional development, 0.97 for work communities and0.87for job involvement.
Findings:According to the obtained results, the basic assumption of the research based on the effect of work communities and occupational conflict on professional development was confirmed. The results of the multivariate regression analysis showed that among the six components of work communities, the goals component and also job involvement explain a total of 19.6 of the changes in the dependent variable of professional development.
Conclusion: The programs of work communities and occupational conflicts can help in the growth and development of the faculty members and improve the quality of education and the health system of the country.
