Educational Development of Judishapur

Abstract
Introduction: The purpose of this article is to raise awareness of the information needs of users of the central library for policy-making and future decision-making.
Material and methods: The study was conducted using a descriptive-analytical cross-sectional method. The statistical population consisted of students and faculty members of Ahvaz University of Medical Sciences, with 196 individuals selected as the sample. The tool used was a checklist, which was sent to the study participants via SMS containing a link or email.
Result and discussion: 41.7 percent of the research participants were not familiar with the central library portal, 31.9 percent were familiar, 50 percent of the research participants were not familiar with the library software, 41.2 percent of the research participants were familiar with the central library certification system. 50% of the participants in the research did not use the reading room of the central library. Regarding the search engine and scientific databases, the users were more familiar with the Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus and Wos. In regards to the diverse services of the Central Library and gender, no significant relationship was observed between the level of satisfaction with the services and academic rank.
Conclusion: Based on the extensive analysis of users' familiarity, usage, and satisfaction with library resources and services it can be concluded that the library has effectively met the information needs of the scientific community but still has room for improvement.
